Q: Tell us a little about your company, how long in business, how you got started, etc.
A: Founded by serial creator Suzy Batiz in 2007, Poo~Pourri, the original Before-You-Go Toilet Spray, stops bathroom odor before it begins. Fed up with the lack of natural bathroom odor solutions, Batiz decided to get off her hiney and do something about it! Combining her knowledge of essential oils and entrepreneurial passion, she formulated Poo~Pourri as the first natural, truly effective solution to a universal problem: poop happens, and it stinks!
Q: What are your product offerings? What’s unique about your products vs. other companies in this category?
A: We offer Before-You-Go Toilet Spray in several different scents and sizes, Shoe Odor Eliminators, Bidets, and we just recently entered the antibacterial category with our CDC certified hand sanitizer. What makes Poo~Pourri more effective than air freshener really comes down to the science of trapping odor. Traditional air fresheners attempt to remove the odor by mixing fake fragrances into the air, which just doesn’t work. With Poo~Pourri, you spritz the bowl before-you-go, which creates a barrier on the water’s surface. The film on the surface traps the stench beneath the water before it ever enters the air.
Q: What do you love most about attending the markets?
A: We love seeing customers react to new items and gather feedback about the line. Connecting in person with our Territory Managers and supporting Showroom sales.
Q: Why do customers love your products?
A: With 350 million combined video views, over 100 million bottles sold worldwide, and 60,000 5-star reviews, Poo~Pourri has become an internationally known, category inventor and start-up success transforming the way we all think about pooping. Customers love our cheeky marketing and our ability to stop odors BEFORE they begin!
Q: Where do you get your inspirations and trend direction from for new products?
A: We look everywhere for inspiration! For new scent inspiration, we look at luxury fragrance trends but we also look at the mental state of our world. We try to incorporate aromatherapy into our scents so your bathroom break can serve as double “dooty” for your mental break. For new category expansion, we look for white space where consumer’s needs are not being met and where our voice can shine.
Q: What does the future holds for Poo~Pourri? Maybe a small sneak peek into future product expansions, ideas, etc.
A: We’re in the business of embarrassing odors and embarrassing odors don’t only exist in the bathroom!
