Staying true to your identity isn’t always easy in the fashion industry, but Jane Marie owners Janie and Jeff have found a way to stay true to their roots while offering trendy and affordable clothing and jewelry for children and adults. Self-described as “rustic, shabby, chic,” what started as a charm company in 2014 based in Northern Louisiana has grown into a booming business over the past four years. Since its launch, the brand has expanded into tees and tanks for moms, dads and their mini me’s. This year, for the first time ever, they will also offer sweatshirts and pajamas for the whole family. With classic southern slogans like “Lord Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise” and “Y’all Ain’t Right” proudly printed on their apparel. It’s no wonder why Jane Marie has charmed their way (no pun intended) from the showroom right onto buyer’s shelves. OneCoast is home to Jane Marie’s showroom and had the opportunity to see the magic behind the scenes. Here is a sneak peek of their fall/winter 2018 show setup and what the OneCoast visual team has had the pleasure of creating over the past few months.

Mud Pie Celebrates Apparel-Only Showroom at Atlanta Apparel Mart

Mud Pie, a market leader in home, kids , fashion gifts and apparel, officially  opened a new apparel-only showroom at the Atlanta Apparel Mart this week.  The 600 sq. ft. space in Building 3 is open during Atlanta apparel shows, gift shows and year-round by appointment.  The showroom will feature upcoming line introductions as well as in stock and ready to ship offerings for dresses, separates, outerwear, jewelry, handbags and accessories.

The move marks Mud Pie’s continued expansion into women’s apparel.  Fashion has been the fastest growing category for Mud Pie since launching in 2010.   Mud Pie and OneCoast also recently announced the launch of a new OneCoast Mud Pie Fashion Division, a specialized team of experts that serve as stylists and consultants to help retailers build the right assortment for their stores.  According to Fred Pannek, President of Mud Pie, “The new showroom puts Mud Pie where fashion retailers buy, when they buy.  With this new showroom and our dedicated sales force, we will be able to serve apparel buyers with the right product at the right time.”

Jane Marie started as a charm company and has grown to a large line offering various styles that cater to all women and their own unique styles.  Always staying up to date on the current trends and without straying from our vintage flair using mixed metals and texture, natural stones, wooden beads, leather, and tassels.

 

Jane Marie continues to expand both the Hwy 167 and Down Home shirt lines to include long sleeve and Holiday shirts. What will women and men be wearing come Fall?  The moral of the season just might be that there is no single defining point of view ~ there is diversity in style, silhouette, and color ~ This is what makes fashion great.

Red is the color of Fall 2017; however, Brown is the new black with honorable mentions going to the yellow and Blue family. This season is all about the plaid in a variety of color combinations from pants to shirts and scarves.  Fishnet leggings are all the rage and will be seen paired with dresses, tunics and shirt dresses.  Fur continues to be a hot trend in stoles, wraps and collared scarves.  There is a touch of sparkle for Fall 2017 with sequins being added to everything from tank tops, dresses, scarves and handbags…Speaking of handbags this season is sure to be a smash hit with unique styling in micro bags that are just big enough to fit the necessities, to oversized totes, and backpacks.  In addition, we have interchangeable straps to make an old bag new again, as well as handbags with handles that can be worn in a multitude of ways.

Jewelry for Fall 2017 is an innovative mix and matching a variety of mediums with fusions of materials and colors creating different designs.  There are pearls and Suede, metal and leather combining to make statement necklaces and earrings.  The pieces are artful and bold.  We expect continued success with our Harp string bracelets, and a variety of wide wrap bracelets that are perfect for layering.

Men’s is the top growing category in retail and MAD MAN continues to be the industry leader.  MAD MAN is a top seller and we have expanded to include a “black label” collection of some higher end pieces so we can fit the niche in every store.  We have distressed leather briefcases and backpacks, newly designed leather wallets and money clips.  A spectacular introduction of men’s 100% wool ties, and trendy bow ties all nicely boxed.  New watches in stellar quality, and much, much more.  Fall 2017 should turn out to be a magnificent introduction for MAD MAN.

Mud Pie is proud to continue its partnership with the March of Dimes, by donating $5 for every purchase of the exclusive “love” footprint piggy bank, and ten cents for all socks and soft headbands. Since developing a relationship with the March of Dimes in 2013, Mud Pie has donated a total of $512,500 to the cause – one dime at a time. P. Graham Dunn’s Summer lineup features a wide variety of carved pieces, as well as some unique shapes and sizes. Showcasing a classic farmhouse style, paired with the exposure of natural pine wood grain, creates a timeless look.

Signature Signs– Modeled after vintage commercial signage from years past, from shape to font, every detail is accentuated. Added distressing, unique text treatments, and detailed embellishments deliver a product that is in every way unique.

Back 40’s- Named after the large acreage often found behind a farmhouse, each of these pieces are sizable, elaborately designed, and carved. With meticulous attention to detail, from distressing the paint, to the grains in the wood, each piece appears as if it’s been weathered for years.

Barrel Tops- These circular signs were created to resemble the lids of old, wooden shipping barrels. Artistic weathered designs and faux slats are applied, then paired with sentiments of encouragement.

Faux Tin & Timber- Imitating the look of galvanized steel, combined with a natural stained pine frame, these signs present a unique blend of raw materials. From the staining of the frame to the placement of the sentiment, each piece is artfully detailed.

Spring ’17 continues with the additions of our new print and color collections.   We are bringing more of the outside in with our “Think Pink Botanical” collection offering botanical printed dessert plates, trays, and unique pineapple home decor.

 

Blue please!  This trending color just simply makes us…happy.  That is why we launched a “Double Happiness” printed collection with blue as the leading color.  From trinket dishes, ginger gars, pillows, trays and more.  Every home will just be just…happier.
What would make any party more Pinterest perfect than the perfect home?  We agree, … nothing!  So with that we added and further expanded our Room Décor by adding lamps, pillows, bar carts, room décor objects, and wall artwork.

 

We are already counting down to Holiday 2017 with the expansion of clever holiday gifts, tabletop, tree trimming solutions, and more. Our “You make me blush” rose gold holiday story features a signature four foot rose gold nutcracker. He will make you say “Rose all Day” and is the perfect sidekick to our rose gold platters, coupe champagne glasses, ornaments and more.

 

Our “Trim a Tree” with evergreen story features an evergreen branch print that mixes seamlessly with our current plaid stories while adding a touch of newness. New additions in this collection include our new Santa and friend’s cookies trays, gold Mylar balloon style ornaments, dessert plates, platters, and much more.

Jane Marie started as a charm company and has grown to a large line offering various styles that cater to all women and their own unique styles.  We stay up to date on the current trends without straying from our vintage flair using mixed metals and texture, natural stones, wooden beads, leather, fringe and tassels.

 

The Jane Marie line continues to expand adding Kids Jewelry and T-shirts.  The Kids Collection will encompass about 80 SKUs with pops of color and kid-friendly designs and packaging in themes such as cupcakes and sentiments such as a “little sis, big sis,” necklace. Q: Tell us a little about your company, how long in business, how you got started, etc.

A: Beachcombers has been around for over 70 years and, believe it or not, when presented with the opportunity to buy the company in 2015 – it was not love at first sight. The previous owners and I both agreed that it would be good to spend about six months learning about the business and it was during this time that I got hooked. Being the entrepreneur that I am, it did not take me long to see there was a great foundation in place, and I quickly saw the future, which is now Beachcombers Coastal Life.

A: When it comes to product, we stick to what we know; Coastal. We have six lines which are Coastal Gifts, Coastal Decor, Coastal Holiday, Coastal Threads, Coastal Accessories, and Coastal Kids.  The uniqueness of each product line is a reflection of our carefully selected product team’s commitment to those lines and our mission, which is to never be boring, never stop being inspired, and never stop caring about what the end consumer wants in coastal products. 

 

What makes our products different from the other wholesalers? It is our intense focus on the coastal genre; it’s that simple. We put more time and energy into this genre than any other company out there, and that, in turn, is what makes unique products.

A: Focusing on our specifically targeted end consumer. We get our inspirations and trend direction from multiple sources including international fashion and home shows, online trend services, market research partners, and lifestyle magazines such as Coastal living, Cottage & Bungalow. This helps to keep our focus sharp on the aspirational lifestyle products we offer.

 

Q: What do you love most about attending the markets? 

A: Feedback is by far the most valuable offering at the markets for us. Finding out what we’re doing right, and what we can do better. We’re in the business of helping our customers grow their business. The markets are great place to understand and appreciate the world of our retail partners and improve our offerings.

A: Honestly, our retailers love our products because they retail well. Consumers want memories, and love to dream. Our products aim to keep those things alive through aspirational product offerings that are suitable in every home.

 

Q: What does the future hold for Beachcombers Coastal Life?  Maybe a small sneak peek into future product expansions, ideas, etc.

A: 2016 brought about the inception of our décor and holiday lines, as well as a tremendous amount of awesome Improvement within the company; top to bottom.

 

Come January 2017 we will be launching three new complete lines:

  • Coastal Threads, which consists of women’s and men’s fashion.
  • Coastal Accessories, which consists of outfit completers – from jewelry and hats – to totes.
  • Coastal Kid, a line which will include boys and girls fashion, swim, and living – and one which is particularly special to me because of my own children.

2017 will see further improvement of all of our lines, as well as these exciting launches. Beyond that though? Well, we are going to keep that a secret for now! Rest assured though, it is going to be spectacular!

Q: Tell us a little about your company, how long in business, how you got started, etc.

pgd-1A: P. Graham Dunn is a family owned and operated business, nestled in the heart of Amish country that started back in 1976 by Peter and LeAnna Dunn. A few years prior to starting the business, Peter and LeAnna accepted a mission to open a home for runaway girls in New York City. In order to keep the girls occupied, they initiated a small woodworking business. The girls carved plaques and gifts that quickly became popular at the Greenwich Village outdoor markets. Little did they know this side-business would lead to a full-time operation. Now, 40 years later, P. Graham Dunn is leading manufacturer of inspirational art, gift and home decor within the United States.

 

Q: What are your product offerings? What’s unique about your products vs. other manufacturers?

A: Inspirational home décor manufactured in the USA! We offer a variety of handcrafted products made from commodity materials. In addition, 95% of our product is designed in-house by our extremely talented team of designers. We are also proud to employ a workforce that is primarily Amish and Mennonite, which in turn makes up a strong, family-oriented culture within the walls of our factory and warehouse.

A: Our designers and product development team have a keen eye for new designs and product ideas that are both on-trend and resonating with our shoppers.  We are consistently scouring the market for new, unique product ideas, as well as, listening to our customers and adapting to their needs.

 

Q: What do you love most about attending the markets?

A: We love getting to meet with our customers and grow the relationships we have with them, as well as, showcasing our new product and seeing the response we get from buyers.  Each show is an adrenaline rush, as we have opportunity to share our new designs with the market.

A: We believe that our products resonate with our customers.  We take pride in creating products that warm the heart and inspire the soul.  Our purpose is to bring products to market that are uplifting and positive. Our customers also love that we are Made in the USA!

Q: What does the future hold for P. Graham Dunn? Maybe a small sneak peek into future product expansions, ideas, etc.

A: We are currently expanding our factory and warehouse, taking us from 120,000 sq. ft to a 266,000 sq. ft. With this additional capacity, we’ll be able to introduce new technologies and equipment that will continue to enhance our product offering. In addition, we are working on our Spring introduction which will build upon our current product offering and will include several new designs and ideas. Expect continued expansion on the farmhouse look with clean designs, and rustic simplicity.
