Recap: OneCoast Gives Back

Last December, John Keiser, OneCoast CEO introduced a new 2016 OneCoast Core Value to “Make a Difference” by giving back to individuals and communities as well as inspiring goodness through organized service projects, donations and random acts of kindness.  In conjunction with these efforts, our OneCoast Philanthropy Team initiated two exciting opportunities to make a difference during the recent Summer Show season by providing donated items for our Backpacks of Hope and Helping the Homeless initiatives.  Both projects were designed to spread hope and help change lives of children and adults in the local areas of Dallas, Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Working as a T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More), OneCoast employees, retailers and our vendor partners collected numerous boxes of backpacks and school supplies for children heading back to school soon as well as hundreds of t-shirts, hats and personal care items for the homeless.  The response was overwhelming and much appreciated by the following local organizations that benefited from the donations:

  • Esperanza “Hope” Medrano Elementary School
  • Second Chance Baptist Church Homeless Ministry
  • The Atlanta Mission & My Sisters House
  • Ethel W. Kight Elementary School
  • Las Vegas Rescue Mission

A special THANK YOU to everyone that participated.  Even the smallest investment you give to someone’s future can make a difference!  Look for more opportunities to give back as we continue these and other new initiatives during the months to come.

Earlier this year, OneCoast completely overhauled their website, OneCoast.com, with a refreshed design and a re-engineered browsing and shopping experience for our customers and website visitors.  Since then, we’ve been busy improving existing features and adding new features to our website.

Here’s a recap of the latest enhancements to OneCoast.com!

Search

Quickly search and browse products for your store.  Our engineers took a look under the “hood” of our search engine and have made adjustments so that your product searches are now rip-roarin’ fast.

Did you know that we also have Advanced Search features?  You can filter your product searches by vendor or even by the date products were added to our website.  My favorite is the option to “Search product descriptions”.  Check out Advanced Search.

My Account

We brought back the order history functionality with a few improvements!  In its current version, this feature will display your past online orders you have purchased via OneCoast.com.  Also, we’re working on integrating all of your orders, including show orders, into your order history for a future release.

When you are logged into your OneCoast.com account, you can go to My Account > Web Order History to view a list of your web orders including their status.  Click on any View button to see the details related to that web order.

This feature is only available to our registered users.  If you are a retailer and have not registered for your FREE OneCoast.com account, you can sign up for a free account!

Fun Ideas for Creating a Tailgate Display

stadiumHEY, SPORTS FANS!!!  It’s that time of year again when every town in the country is kicking the ball on opening day of Football Season.  It is also time for you, the retailer, to get in the Team Spirit and cash in with your own Tailgate party. Whatever you sell, from paper products to entertaining items, pillows to jewelry, you can create a fun and exciting look in your store for the season.

chalkboardIf acquiring the tail end of an old pickup truck is not possible, then build your own “bleachers” style display by using crates and pieces of wood.

Set the mood by using a large photo of a stadium, the one in your own town if possible. This will let your customer know that it is Football time and you are selling something for the Season. You don’t have to sell “team oriented” items for you to create a “Tailgate” party.  Many different items can fall into this category, such as canvas totes, platters, glassware, insulated bags, or throws to keep you warm on Friday nights at the game.

By painting the wall area with Chalk Board paint, available from your local Home Center, you can then write on the wall about specials or attract an eye-catching display.

displayAlways try to use PROPS in your display.  This will break up the merchandise that you are selling and help to enhance it.  Back to school props such as an old football helmet, a school megaphone or pom-poms help set the mood.  This in an easy attention-getter that will draw your customer to the display and make them want to see what is there.

Old Crates and soda boxes are good to use for props and risers. And for that Back to College look, use vintage suitcases to put your merchandise on. All of this is an easy and cost effective way to grab the attention of your customer for quick and impulsive buying in your store and also sets the tone for the Fall Season. By doing this, you are showing support for your local team, which is so important to many people during Football Season.
