It is part of OneCoast’s Culture to help give back to the community. During our National Sales and Training Meeting in December 2015, we collected over 200 gifts to be donated to the Cherokee Family Violence Center. This year during our summer shows in Dallas, Atlanta and Las Vegas, we are proud to start a new initiative, Backpacks for Hope!

Backpacks of Hope
Back to school can (and should) be an exciting time in the life of a child. Many children in our country can dread this time of year because they aren’t equip with the things they need to learn and grow. The OneCoast Philanthropy team has come together in hopes of changing this in the lives of children in the local areas of Atlanta, Dallas, and Las Vegas, with our Backpacks of Hope initiative during the upcoming summer shows. If YOU would like to be a part of this effort to supply school supplies to these sweet kiddos, please pick up an item or items on the list below and bring them with you to the summer show. We’ll have collection bins at the front of each showroom where everyone can drop off the supplies and then our Philanthropic Team will work with a local organization to distribute to schools in the area.
Below is the list of supplies we are asking for:
- No. 2 Pencils
- Wide-ruled single subject Notebooks
- Folders with pockets and brads
- Pink Erasers
- 8-pack or 16-pack crayons
- 8-pack markers
- Backpacks (if possible)
Everyone can get involved, too! As you are talking with your customers about what’s going on in your store, let them know we are doing this. Set up a collection station in your store to collection any donations. This small effort is easy and will make a HUGE difference and impact kids for years to come!
If you won’t be attending a show this summer and would like to contribute, stay tuned for more information on an address where you can mail supplies or how you can also make a monetary donation.
We hope that this project will be a fun and important way to give back to the children of cities we call home for a few days each year!
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Melanie Yates who is leading our Backpacks of Hope initiative.
